How Parlivon works

1. Step 1

   Pick your languages

   Choose the app language you want to read, then the two languages for your conversation. Your language choices and completed setup are remembered on the device, including when you are not signed in.

2. Step 2

   Choose the right tool

   Use Voice for talking, Text for typing, or Camera for menus and signs. Download language packs while you have a connection if you need phrases and audio for offline travel.

3. Step 3

   Translate and check

   Speak, type or take a photo, then read or listen to the result. Replay when needed and confirm names, numbers and other important details with the person you are speaking to.

• Allow microphone access for voice conversations and camera access for photo translation.
• Keep an active connection for live voice, text and camera translation.
• Basic access is available without signing in. Account features and allowances depend on your plan.
• Download phrasebooks and their available audio before travelling somewhere with limited signal.

Minimum requirement: TWS (true wireless stereo) earbuds with Bluetooth 5.2, 5.3 or 5.4 that support independent single-ear operation — each bud has to work on its own so two people can share one pair.

Stereo earbuds have a left and a right channel, and Parlivon sends a different language to each. The in-app earbud check plays a short test in one ear at a time so you can confirm — or swap — the sides in a couple of seconds. After that the setting is remembered.

• Built for two people, one phone. A chatbot conversation is one person typing, copying and pasting. Parlivon speaks to each of you in your own earbud and switches direction on its own when the other person replies.
• Tuned for conversation speed. Live voice goes through a fast translation pipeline with automatic fallbacks, instead of waiting on a chat window that may think for many seconds before answering.
• Made for the street, not the desk. Point the camera at a menu, sign or label and read it in your language, and download phrasebooks that still work when there is no signal at all.
• It remembers your setup. Languages, earbud sides and completed setup stay on the device between trips — no retyping prompts each time, and Basic works without an account.

For a single typed question, an AI chat is fine. For an actual conversation with someone standing in front of you — while you both keep your hands free and your own language in your ears — that is what Parlivon is for.
